FBM on the Gold Coast!

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Helensvale BMX on Queenslands Gold Coast is one of the premier BMX specific stores in this big old country of ours. They have been long time supporters of FBM and stock eveything FBM from Mesh Hats through to high end Warlord Completes. Mitch and Conrad who run the show both ride FBMs and one of there shop team riders is Patrick Oneil who is on FBM flow through the shop. Pat went for a cruisey ride the other day at his local spot and Conrad was able to capture it and put this together. Nice day at the trails ..What more does a guy need? Nothing.

Jam time baby!

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Regional jams and comps are always a blast - Country dudes always seem to really go out on a limb to have a good time so if you are about the place in Kempsey in Northern NSW on the 17th of April check out the Jam that Brodie Butterfield is putting on , There is now a banging pro purse as well so if hucking big stunts is your gig get on down and you might walk away with some cash for your trouble!

We have also given a stack of FBM product to the Thistownsucks crew to help with there Trafalgar Jam on the 17th as well. As Rubers would say -get amongst it! Now playing Entombed- To ride, shoot straight and speak the truth. Anyone got any takers on better death rock than this album from Entombed? Please let me know!

This is one of the most fun spots on the trip if you know where it is have fun.If not , dont worry it must be a bust now right?

Two seriously good mates right here, Peterjuice Koh and the artistic director and head honcho of FBM Steve Crandall. Byron Bay ya heard!

Oh no! Pat Oneil looking like the Devil has landed in this cab in Byron Bay.How much red eye reduction not being used here?

Seriously one of the best trips i have ever had the pleasure of being on . If you want to check some more stills from the trip have a look here and check the trailer for the DVD here. The full length double DVD from this trip is now in all leading BMX retailers across the country!

Broken Noses and being lifers...

Monday, October 26th, 2009

We are very proud to be associated with the  FBM Bike Company for so many reasons, BMX has exploded in popularity over the last few years again and there is so many BMX companies making products its hard to keep up. FBM has always prided themselves on making a small but functional range of products that cater to the needs of BMX riders from all walks of life. They made 8 pound frames(Angel of Death) in a time when frames were breaking left right and centre. They were making functional heavy duty sprockets when fat chains were the norm and riders were content to wear a hole in the frame from a motorbike chain rather than break the chain doing a sprocket disaster on a rail. They have sponsored some of the biggest names in the  sport like Aaron Ross , Cameron Wood and Tony Cardona and then lost the same riders to companies that had bigger payrolls. They have had there entire warehouse burnt to the ground and had to start again from scratch. They have had made video tapes( yes as in before dvds) that changed riders minds about there lives and BMX long before youtube beemed the latest tricks all around the world overnight. To put it bluntly FBM has changed the face of BMX forever, There constant love for BMX, travel and the good and bad times that come with it resonate with riders the whole world over. From the early days of AOD and Old Boy frames and Eyehategod songs in there vids to Modern Day Trail frames like the Steadfast and one of the most dialed looking complete bike ranges you are likely to see. FBM is in constant progression forward. Stowaway is proud to sponsor Peter Koh and Kie Ashworth with FBM in Australia and is proud to co sponsor Pat Oneil through Helensvale BMX on the Gold Coast. Kelvin Pentland through Backbone in Canberra and Lou Reeves through Anchor BMX in Melbourne.

FBM Pro and all round bad ass . Kie Ashworth sizey gap to icepick in Albany , New York. Kie was present on the FBM Wizards of Oz tour back in summer this year. You can peep his riding on the Wizards DVD that is out now all over the country. FBM is one company who is not letting the idea of having fun on your BMX fade. If you want to know what we got up to on that tour that has been all over the web of late do your self a favour and pick up this nice price double DVD from your local BMX shop today!

Wizards of Oz mania.......mang.

Ned Kelly at the Maryborough Jam

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

I caught up with Mitch Donnely and some of the young punks from Helensvale BMX and buzzed up North to Bundaberg drinking land, Maryborough QLD. Really good times thanks to Dale , Lester , Jacko and the rest of the crew who worked there asses off to get all 4 main lines working at the Snakedown trails.

Mitch hooked it up bigtime for the crew and already had us booked in staying at Ned Kellys, Lord knows what Ned Kelly had to do with Maryborough but i do know im into Australias infactuation with large public displays of big things, pineapples , lobsters , sheeps , Ned Kellys get on!

There was a big crowd in attendance and at one time i counted 27 riders training one of the lines, Riders from all over the country were in attendance which equaled vast amounts of fun all round.

Pat , Richo ,  Goona , Helensvale Jimmy and Adam all relishing the good times.

Mitch taking the low road while Sunny boy Joel grabs the bull by the horns. This line saw alot of action through out the day as did all the lines. Cheers to the locals for being so cool as to throw a free for all at the Trails and being so welcoming to all!

Mike and the Mechanics, Michael Vockenson and the Sunshine coast boys were on hand dialing , shredding and generally have a good time all day . Cheers for the conversation dudes , Its really cool to meet crews like yours. Ace Weekend all over cheers to Helensvale Bmx for making this trip a reality.
